Borneo Food & Drink


The food of Borneo is inspired by three major cuisines: Malay, Chinese and Indian. Its dishes, therefore, are fragrant and sweet with a hint of spice. Seafood is popular, but the ways in which such dishes are prepared can vary depending on where you are on the island. Fine dining, with dishes inspired by European cuisine, is also available. Soft drinks, mineral water and fresh fruit juices are widely available. You should also try the local pulled tea (Tarik) during your stay.
