Hotel Location

About British Colonial Hilton

Housed in a historic building on the seafront in downtown Nassau, the British Colonial first opened in 1901. A major renovation in the late 90s breathed new life into the interior, but the stately grandeur of its facade remains unchanged. Sitting directly on the golden sands, its unique vantage point guarantees uninterrupted views of the huge cruise ships as they come and go. Boasting its own freshwater outdoor pool and beach club, the hotel also has a private beach with cabanas and offers a wide range of watersports, including sailing and snorkelling.

Dining

Aqua: The British Colonials newest restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 6.30am to 10.30pm. There is a choice of buffet or a la carte and the catch of the day is often the star feature on the evening menu. Both local and international foods are available, as are sea views from the tables.

Bullion: This area in the central lobby has a striking copper-topped and leather-fronted bar. The double-height ceiling and panelled walls lend an Old World elegance to the setting, while more modern leather club chairs add a contemporary twist. Serves afternoon tea, evening cocktails and bar snacks, with the largest selection of rums on the island. Open from 5pm to 12am.
Patio Bar and Grille: Located by the hotel pool, this al fresco outlet specialises in American favourites. Bahamian dishes and tropical drinks are also served. It has great daytime views over the harbour and is open from 11am to 5pm.
