Proudly occupying a glorious position amidst the beaches of beautiful, north-western Moorea, in the shadow of mighty mountains, the InterContinental Resort and Spa combines this miraculous backdrop with 18 hectares of its own verdant gardens – where 200 species of flora flourish – not to mention a heavenly pool and spa.

The first thing to decide is whether to stay in amidst the gardens, right on the beach or over the lagoon itself, as each of these options brings its own benefits. The kaleidoscopic gardens are a lush wonderland, the beach is dreamy, and the overwater bungalows offer a rare chance to fall asleep in an unusual spot. All, however, are kitted out with the same tasteful finishes, though some are blessed with plunge pools for anyone wishing to push the boat out!

About InterContinental Resort and Spa Moorea

Lapped by warm, topaz waters that stretch out for mile upon mile, with soaring mountaintops right behind it, the InterContinental Resort and Spa frames its surroundings perfectly. Escaping to this island idyll is all the more tempting thanks to the hotel’s notable string of facilities and attractions, the star of the show being the Dolphin Centre where the three characterful creatures are looked after by vets and scientists, who lead interesting educational programs for visitors to enjoy.

Adding to this are the tropical gardens, Turtle sanctuary and dive centre – allowing you to swim up close to coral reefs – a clear indicator that the InterContinental is devoted to the wonders of nature here in the South Pacific. Pampering is still encouraged though, the onsite Hélène Spa being an exotic haven brimming with unusual features like a river bath, dual rain showers and flower-filled baths, while dining is a real treat thanks to the theme nights taking place three times a week. You can even have a go at cooking local delicacies yourself with the live stations at the Soiree Blanche; wear white, and you’ll get a complimentary glass of bubbly too!
