Travel Tips & Advice for Langkawi

Langkawi Activities

Langkawi isn't short on activities, although visitors would certainly be forgiven for choosing to spend all their time on the beach. It would be a shame though, as this stunning archipelago has so much to offer, not least of which is the incredible diving and snorkelling. If you want to fit in a spot of duty free shopping then head to Kuah, while at Oriental Village you can take the Langkawi Cable Car up to 708 metres above the rainforest with views of the Seven Wells Waterfall.

Things to Do in Langkawi

Nature is everywhere in Langkawi; with 97 uninhabited islands it should be expected. One of the best things you can do on a trip to this very special part of the world is take a walk through its ancient rainforests, which is home to rare and endangered species of birds and animals such as Brahminy kites, giant sea eagles, and flying lemurs. If you're not one for hiking, then you can get a great view of the islands from the Sky Bridge, or head to the mangroves for a tranquil boat trip.

Langkawi Climate

Langkawi has a tropical climate, with temperatures hovering between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius throughout the year. To avoid the heaviest of the rainfall it's best to visit in winter or early spring, when you'll be guaranteed up to seven hours of sun a day. Luxury Langkawi holidays are at their best during this period, when you can be sure of getting a good tan and lapping up the sunshine on palm fringed beaches. This is the ideal time to head off on a trip and make paradise a reality.
