Start with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before setting off on a full-day tour of Vietnam’s capital city, including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his traditional stilt house, the One-Pillar Pagoda, and the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature also known as the First University of Vietnam. In the afternoon, visit the Ethnology museum to understand the diversity of Vietnamese ethnic communities. After that, take a walking tour to explore the Old Quarter of Hanoi, an excellent area to try some traditional street food.

Hanoi to Halong Bay by Sea plane
This morning, leave the noise of the city behind as you board a seaplane and take in the impressive aerial views over Hanoi as you fly 45 minutes to Halong Bay and enjoy a 15 minute scenic flight over Halong Bay. Called “Bay of Descending Dragons” in Vietnamese, the archipelago of Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site composed of almost 2,000 islands and jungle-clad limestone pillars. From up high in the sky you will have amazing views over this magnificent landscape. See the islands of Cong Do, Ba Ham with their pretty lagoons and fly out to Dau Be on the edge of the Gulf of Tonkin. Then board a small tender to arrive at your private junk for an overnight cruise on Halong Bay with an excellent menu of fresh seafood.

Halong Bay to Hue
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the aquamarine water of the bay at its best. After a tea break, the boat continues to cruise quietly through spectacular limestone formations of Halong Bay. Enjoy the tranquillity of the bay and it's unique islands as you return to Halong harbour after brunch. Transfer directly to Hanoi Airport for your onward flight to Hue. Here you'll be welcomed by local guide on arrival and transfer to your hotel for check in.

Hue Cooking Class and Sunset Cruise
Enjoy a relaxed start to your day and late morning join a hands-on cookery class. A charming Vietnamese couple will welcome you into their lovely garden-house in Hue named Tha Om. After a guided tour of the various centenarian buildings, which make up the house, your hostess will take you to the kitchen to teach you how to prepare a selection of traditional Hue dishes and how to play with the combinations of flavours, which later you will be able to use when you go home. During lunch you will be able to taste the dishes you have prepared yourself along with other Hue specialities prepared by your hosts. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the Imperial Citadel and end the day serenely cruising on the famous Perfume River as you watch the sun go down while enjoying a cocktail and some local snacks.

Hue to Hoi An
This morning, visit Tu Duc Mausoleum, one of the most beautiful tombs of Hue and is a model of Vietnamese traditional art. It is also where you’ll have an opportunity to learn about the history of Nguyen Dynasty and the French colonial period. Then, depart for Danang via the scenic Hai Van Pass to view one of the most beautiful panoramas in Vietnam as you look out over the central coastline. You will also stop at the quiet, white sandy beach of Lang Co before arriving at your luxury beachfront hotel for check-in. Enjoy the afternoon relaxing at your resort.

Hoi An Sightseeing
This morning enjoy a city tour of Hoi An Town. The small streets of Hoi An are ideal to wander through the shops on foot or by bike. Cars and motorbikes are forbidden in the entire area, which allows you to peacefully enjoy the famous sites such as Chinese temples, traditional houses, the Japanese bridge and daily life of the local people. The tour ends with a cup of coffee or tea at Reaching Out – a special tea-shop where all the waiters and waitresses are deaf and whom have been given a chance of a self reliant life and to work here professionally. Return to your hotel or enjoy lunch in the Old Town. Later this afternoon, you will have a chance to experience a short basket boat trip on the Co Co river to enjoy the beautiful scenery and sunset on the way to The Field restaurant & Bar where you will be served with fresh food and the daily catch from the surrounding river and fresh local vegetables will be prepared as appetisers and served on a private bamboo raft on Co Co river bank. Afterwards, return to your hotel.

Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh and Cu Chi
Enjoy your last morning in Hoi An until your transfer to Danang Airport and your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival you'll be greeted by your local guide and you'll head straight out of the city to visit the amazing tunnel network of Cu Chi. This incredible system, covering almost 250km in length was shelter to over 16,000 Vietcong guerrillas during two wars. Initially started in 1948 to provide protection against the French air and ground sweeps, the network went on to serve as communication routes, storage facilities, hospitals and living quarters for Vietnamese fighters throughout the American war. If you are interested (and game) you can even descend into the tunnels to learn more about the harsh conditions faced by the Vietcong guerrillas who lived there. Return to the city centre and check in at your hotel.

Ho Chi Minh City Sightseeing
Today you will visit the historic sites of the city including the Old Post Office of Saigon, the Notre Dame cathedral, Dong Khoi Street and the Chinese District of Cho Lon where you can visit the famous bustling Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Pagoda.

Mekong Delta by Mango Cruise
Depart from Ho Chi Minh City around 8 am and head south to Ben Tre province, famous for its coconut production and quiet, peaceful waterways. On arrival, take a xe loi ride through the local village of Huu Dinh to enjoy the green fields and gardens. Continue with a short walk to Huu Phuoc Bridge, where you will start your boat trip through small canals with beautiful tropical scenery. On board the boat, enjoy a welcome drink (mango cocktail) and tropical fruits while cruising. The cruise will stop first at a brick factory where the locals still use centuries-old traditional methods to make the bricks by hand. Then go back to your boat to cross the An Hoa River, where you will take a sampan trip through narrow canals and enjoy the peacefulness of the region. Enjoy fresh fruits and tea before heading to visit a rice noodles factory which produces Hu Tieu noodles, one of most popular breakfast dishes in the region. Then switch to a bicycle and ride on village roads past green gardens and local houses, and stop at another local house . Continue your cycling trip to My Long to visit Mr Sau Tuong, a former Vietcong soldier who survived two years fighting the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. Now he and his wife live on making rice paper which is the most famous speciality of My Long village. It is time for you to relax and enjoy a 5-course lunch of local specialities. Relax and walk around the garden after lunch, and then visit the nearby house of Mr Hung, who is a famous sticky rice maker in the village. After the visit, the boat will be waiting for you at the pier nearby to bring you back to Ben Tre city where your car is ready to take you back to Saigon.
