Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel

Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel

Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel is a ravishing embodiment of new world luxury in an old-world setting.

Housed in a 13th-century former monastery on a cliff overlooking the iconic Amalfi coastline, Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel is history reimagined. Just a short walk to the pretty town of Amalfi and with inspiring views out to the Tyrrhenian Sea, the hotel might turn the clock back to the 13th century but it knows the expectations of discerning 21st century visitors. It’s the perfect base from which to explore other towns, including Sorrento, Positano and Capri, with the iconic ruins of Pompeii only a day trip away. Failing that, just relax by its infinity pool, treat yourself to the spa and breathe in the scent of lemon trees.

About Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel

While the medieval foundations of Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel are resplendently ancient, the decor within this elegant bolt-hole is tastefully modern yet understated. You may find that the resort is more suited to couples, solo visitors and friends rather than those with young children as the focus here, in fitting with the monastic setting, is on quietude and relaxation. Indeed, the sea-facing infinity pool and spa, complete with a Turkish bath and secluded, outdoor relaxation area, screams peace and tranquillity. What’s more, Amalfi itself is a stone’s throw from the hotel, with the focal part of the historic centre being the Piazza del Duomo, its boutique shops and promenade cafes must-do experiences. Once you’re done there, make your way back and feast on fusion cuisine at Kyushu; its terrace overlooking the coast and food succinctly prepared by international chef Julian Marmol making for the ultimate dinnertime idyll.
