Thailand's Phi Phi Islands are a visual feast. Huge rocky outcrops partially covered in vegetation stand off from the beautiful coral sand beaches where the colourful fishing boats are pulled onto the shore. The beaches are backed by lush jungle vegetation. This natural beauty is the reason the islands are so often used as movie locations. The island of Phi Phi Leh has no permanent human residents but does have the beautiful Maya Bay that was featured in the movie The Beach. The island of Phi Phi Don has no roads. Because of that the islands are, to say the least, a laid-back holiday destination. The excellent diving is why many visitors take the long trip to the Phi Phi Islands. Courses are available at several dive centres. For nightlife on your Phi Phi Islands holiday, head to the Phi Phi Reggae at Tonsai Village or the Sun Flower Beach Bar at the north end of Loch Dalum Bay.

Staying on resort can mean putting your feet up on a lounger but the Phi Phi Islands are really all about the beautiful beaches. Relax, swim and dive in the warm waters or take walks along the shoreline. The usual range of water sports, sailing, kayaking and snorkelling are available. There are plenty of restaurants to try and some lively nightspots but many people just party on the beaches. If you are feeling particularly brave you could try the sport of cliff jumping!
Most traditional Thai dishes are very flavoursome and created by chefs using a variety of spices. If you'd prefer to eat less piquant food, remember the phrase 'mai phet', as it means not spicy. At your hotel this won't be an issue however, as most include an international edge to their expertly prepared food, every night of the week. At the Phi Phi Island Beach Resort there are eight restaurants to tempt you during your stay, plus snacks and fresh fruit cocktails.
Many islands close to Phi Phi are perfect for a speedboat visit and some may even seem strangely familiar, such as the glamorous James Bond Island, which featured in both Tomorrow Never Dies and The Man with the Golden Gun. For younger visitors, the rides and attractions at the Pirate Island Adventure Park are sure to be a hit, as are the half-day shark watching tours run from Koh Phi Phi Don. Your guides even provide snorkelling equipment so braver visitors can swim with the large fish
