If you’re going on safari in Serengeti National Park chances are you’ve been dreaming of game drives in an open-topped 4X4 – and that’s certainly one of top activities. But there’s so much more you can do. Go fly camping where a mosquito net is all that stands between you and the stars, get up close and personal to nature on a walking safari and learn about the Maasai people with cultural encounters. Our favourite activity? A once-in-a-lifetime hot air balloon ride over the plains.

Serengeti Food & Drink

As you’ll be in the middle of the wilderness when on safari in the Serengeti, your tented camp or luxury lodge is likely to operate on a Full Board basis where breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included. Meals on safari are all about bush picnics so you can get up early and still be fed, communal dinners around the fireplace, private evening meals beneath the stars and – of course – sundowners as the sun sets.

Think Serengeti, think Great Migration. This incredible spectacle takes places over many months of the year and is the top reason that people come to this national park – you’ll have the chance to be an eye witness to two million wildebeest and zebra move en masse from Tanzania to Kenya. But the Serengeti is also home to one of the largest lion populations in Africa – and one of the best places to spot them are from kopjes, giant rock formations that are sure to remind you of Pride Rock!
