    Delve into Southern Vietnam to discover Ho Chi Minh City and the famous Cu Chi tunnels before continuing along the Mekong River. You'll explore the colourful floating markets and visit small local villages along the river to get an understanding of local life. For a truly unique experience, you'll travel by private sampan staying overnight on the river itself. Next, it's off to beautiful Phu Quoc Island for a few days or R&R at your beachfront resort. Enjoy snorkelling or explore the national forest teeming with bird life. Once in Cambodia, highlights include visiting Siem Reap with its fabulous temples, explore the magnificent Angkor Wat and Ta Prom sites to end the trip on a high note.

    Day 1: Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City

    You'll be met by your local guide on arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport on arrival. Transfer to the city for hotel check in and you are free to relax or explore fort the rest of the day.

    Ho Chi Minh City Sightseeing and Cu Chi Tunnels

    After breakfast meet your guide for a private transfer to the underground Cu Chi tunnel network. Nearly 250km in length, these tunnels were used to shelter Vietcong guerrillas during the Vietnam War – descend into the tunnels if you dare! Spend the afternoon touring the city, visiting historic landmarks including the Old Saigon Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Opera House. You’ll also stop at the Reunification Palace and have the chance to test your bartering skills at the Binh Tay Market in the Chinese district of Cholon.

    Mekong Delta and Cai Be

    Today you’ll leave Ho Chi Minh City behind to explore Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta. Start the morning by boarding your boat at the Phong Nam brick kiln before cruising along the Chet Say River – a branch of the Mekong – stopping at workplaces on the way including a coconut processing workshop where you’ll get to sample fresh coconut. Travel down narrow canals, disembarking to visit a mat weaving house before hopping on board a xe loi (motorised rickshaw) to cycle into a local village for lunch. In the afternoon you’ll take a relaxing trip on a sampan, checking into your resort in Cai Be in the evening.

    Day 3: Mekong Delta

    Spend the day on the waters of the Mekong Delta travelling by private sampan, making a number of stops to explore life along the river and canals. First stop is the colourful floating market of Cai Be where you’ll cruise between barges full of fruits and vegetables. Head upstream on the Tien Giang River, disembarking to take a local row boat along narrow canals to the town of Sa Dec where you can walk round the marketplace on a guided visit of the town. Lunch is served on board your sampan as you pass beneath a number of ‘monkey bridges’ with your last stop of the day a candlelit dinner at ‘Nha Co’ a manor house dating from the early 19th century. You’ll moor overnight at Can Tho for your first night on the Mekong River.

    Day 4: Mekong Delta by Sampan

    Day 5: Mekong Delta to Phu Quoc

    As the sun rises you’ll start cruising, sitting down to an early morning breakfast before reaching the largest market in the Mekong Delta – the Cai Rang floating market. Pass by sampan boats carrying sand, rice, fruit, vegetable, fish and flowers. This part of your journey will end at Ninh Kieu Pier after a visit to the Can Tho market. Travel by private transfer to Can Tho Airport for your flight to Phu Quoc where you’ll be met by shuttle bus and taken to your beachfront hotel.

    Day 5: Mekong Delta to Phu Quoc

    Day 6 - 7: Phu Quoc Island Beach Break

    Relax, unwind and enjoy the your beautiful beachfront location for a couple of days. Phu Quoc is a natural wonderland with protected forests to explore where you can spot rare langurs or macaques. The island is a producer of some of the worlds finest peppers and you can visit some of the local farmers or if you're more into relaxation, enjoy the award winning spa facilities are your resort.

    Day 6 - 7: Phu Quoc Island Beach Break

    Enjoy breakfast and a leisurely morning by the beach until your transfer to the airport for your return flight to Ho Chi Minh City where you'll connect to your next flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your hotel for check in.

    Day 8: Phu Quoc Island to Siem Reap

    Day 9: Angkor Wat - Banteay Sreay - Ta Prohm

    Angkor Wat - Banteay Sreay - Ta Prohm

    Start the day at the incredible Angkor Wat a collection of soaring tower and extraordinary bas reliefs built in the 12th century in honour of the god, Vishnu. After touring this World Heritage Site continue on to Banteay Srei, a pink sandstone temple built in the 10th century and known as the ‘Citadel of Women’. You’ll also have the chance to visit the ancient Ta Prohm Monastery where immense tree branches have taken root in the stonework giving it the nickname ‘Jungle Temple’.

    Please note that a brief stop in the morning is necessary to arrange your tickets to Angkor Wat. Lunch is not included though your guide will be happy to take you downtown – or you can have lunch among the temples.

    Day 9: Angkor Wat - Banteay Sreay - Ta Prohm

    Day 10: Siem Reap

    Siem Reap

    After a busy day of sightseeing, today is yours to spend how you wish. Relax at your resort or explore Siem Reap by foot, visiting the markets, cafes and restaurants; or head out of the city to the floating villages on Tonle Sap Lake. You can also spend another (non-guided) tour of Angkor Wat.
