Travel Tips & Advice For Viñales Valley

The most well-known activities in the town of Vinales include going on the amazing excursions around the limestone mogotes and tobacco farms, exploring the superb caves such as the Gran Caverna de Santo Tomas, and hiking expeditions on the astounding mountains of the Sierra de Los Órganos. Apart from these, some popular activities on holidays to Vinales Valley include birdwatching near the Cueva del Indio, cycling across the town and horse riding in the Vinales Valley National Park.
The food in Vinales is mostly purely Cuban style with lots of beans and lots of rice. There are a few smart restaurants serving different types of cuisine, with flavoursome lobsters, prawns and scrumptious beef. The restaurants renowned for their exclusive service are the Finca Agroecologica El Paraiso, El Olivo and the Balcon del Valle with its breathtaking view of the Vinales Valley. Rum is by far the favourite drink in Vinales and can be found in more than 80 varieties.
There is a lot to see in the enchanting green and yellow agricultural fields of Vinales, and the glorious mogotes and mountains. Other attractions include the charming Casa de Caridad Botanical Gardens, Museo Paleontológico, Vinales Municipal Museum, a Maroon village called Palenque, and the magnificent caves of Cueva de José Miguel, Cueva del Indio and Cueva de Santo Tomás among others in Valle de Vinales National Park, where one of the caves has been turned into a nightclub!
