If you enjoy water sports , Barracuda Scuba Diving Centre, the best diving facility in Varadero, is the place for you, whether you simply want to snorkel with a guide or go cave diving. To see some of Cuba's oldest traditions - growing coffee, tobacco and sugarcane - in action, as well as go hiking and horse riding, visit the extraordinary Parque Nacional Viñales, while a trip to the town of Trinidad will take you back in time with its beautifully-restored colonial architecture.

Cuban cuisine is based mainly on chicken, pork, beans and rice, and is a blend of African,Caribbean, Spanish and Taíno influences. The national dish is ropa vieja, which is shredded beef or lamb cooked slowly with garlic, green peppers, onions and tomatoes. One of the best ways to experience authentic Cuban cuisine, is at paladars - private residences serving home-cooked food - which are common across the country. When it comes to drinks, rum is inevitably where it is at.
